couldn't load default.cfg...urgent help plz!!

hi, i used to have CoD installed before and worked fine, now i am trying to install the game and i am recieving this error when tryin to load the game, couldn't load default.cfg. Make sure Call of Duty is run from the correct folder. I have tried installing the game in different directories, think i have done most things, any help to fix this problem would be greatly appreaciatd.

This is most stupid problem I met with the games - default.cfg...
Roy wrote about this default.cfg and NO answers at all.
Actually I have the same problem and can not find this f***ing default.cfg anywhere. Anybody have it? COD producers have fun with this idiotic fail and happy? Or what?

4. Error Message: "Couldn't Load Default.cfg"

If you try to run Call of Duty™ and receive the error message, "Couldn't Load default.cfg,” this indicates that the program cannot find the "\main" directory that is essential to its proper function. This error commonly occurs when you install the game with no directory specified. For example, if you choose to install it to a hard drive or partition other than the C: drive (that is, D:,E:, etc.), but fail to specify a folder, the game will install everything to the root of the hard drive and the game will not launch.

Sorry, nothng personal, but it is bu****it! I reinstalled COD several times and tested. I have now C:/Program Files/Call of Duty and have same problem...

koko - simmer down. Getting all steamed up wont help.

Check the size of your game pk3 files. This will indicate whether or not your pk3 files are corrupt.

Check them against this:

Correct File sizes for version 1.5:

pak3.pk3 167,888,227 bytes
pak4.pk3 167,607,183 bytes
pak5.pk3 80,540,215 bytes

pak8.pk3 1,091,088 bytes
pak9.pk3 18,971,056 bytes
paka.pk3 3,101,786 bytes
pakb.pk3 5,087,181 bytes

If your pk3 files dont match those exactly, you have a corrupt install.

One of the errors returned on them, is unable to load default.cfg.

Default.cfg is in localized_english_pak0.pk3. Thats the one to check for size match. But check them all, as others may be affected.

If you have a corrupt install, unistall again, but this time make sure you delete the COD folder that gets left behind.

alright now i just got this same problem yesterday and its already pissing me off...the only difference with mine is that IT WONT LET ME UNINSTALL THE GAME!!!! it says cannot find install.log or somthing... and i cant reinstall game in that matter so pls help!
