Fatal Error - Help

CoD 2 - After install and I click on single player and..."Fatal Error. Error during initialization. No valid rendering code path detected".
and then the following message...

You are in the reg CoD discussion page, but I will give you some thoughts though...

It appear you have a bad install of DirectX on your machine. Re-download DirectX 9.0c (Oct version) from Microsoft. Download the latest video drivers again as well for your card. I would also suggest switching your video driver to a generic SVGA and then reboot. Once re-booted, re-install the proper video drivers, then install DX9.0c

Also if you are over-clocking your graphics adapter... turn it back down

Do you have an integrated video card? If you do, that could be the problem.

yeah its an on board card, Intel/NVidia job. He has DX9 enabled though, and the card isnt really up to it.

Try running the game in safe mode (go to programs, and then COD2, and you will see a start up for COD2 safe mode). Once on the Main Menu, go to options > graphics and enable 'force DirectX7'. Then try it again.

You should try to enable DX 7 with config file if you can t run the game at all. And your system should automatically detect your graphics card and setup to game to run properly.
