Patch update problem
 

To try and fix some graphics issues I decided to delete and then reinstall both CoD and CoD-UO.When I reinstalled both games (CoD updated to 1.4 by UO)I downloaded the 1.5 patch and installed.
Problem is that CoD is 1.5 but Cod-UO is 1.4 !!!!
Ive tried taking the games off and reinstalling but each time I do so it ends up the same result.
On the the last try I intended to try and install UO to a different folder,but the browse button on the install was blanked and I couldnt use it.
I havent installed Xfire as I dont use these type of game servers for COD.Is leaving this off the problem?

Right when you install COD it is 1.1. In order to install UO, you must have either 1.4 patch or the most recent 1.5.

When you install UO it will be 1.41. Update it with the 1.51 patch for UO. Sp will still read as 1.41, as you cannot update sp with a mp patch.

I had downloaded the patch from CODfiles and had assumed it was the most up to date.
Im off to google for the 1.51 patch!

OK ,I did a search and downloaded the '1.51' patch,but this is the same as the '1.5' patch I downloaded drom CODfiles.I did find the '1.51b' patch but I cant install it until Ive installed '1.51'!
Call of Duty Multiplayer reads as 1.51 on the mp menu page,United Offensive reads as '1.41' on the mp menu page.UO does not have 'Tigertown' in its map listing.
Im installing directly as instructed(except for install location,but this is OK as UO finds the correct location to install to)
The problem seems to be that UO is being ignored by the patch.

COD CANNOT read as 1.51 coz the patch is 1.5. Please read my first post again. Pay attention to what is said: COD is 1.5; UO is 1.51. You cannot patch COD with 1.51 and you cannot patch UO with 1.5. Got it?

As for 1.51b - this is a server side patch, i.e. for servers - not clients.

Ok,apoligies for calling COD 1.51,when it is in fact 1.5.The problem is that in multipayer UO is reading as 1.41,and due to the lack of servers and missing tigertown,Im sure thia is correct.
As previously stated,I reinstalled COD,installed UO which gives you the option to update COD to 1.4,then downloaded and installed the patch.
COD reads as 1.5(!) but UO is reading as 1.41.Trying to reinstall the patch tells you that 1.5 has been detected and drops out of updating.UO is still 1.41.
Apoligies again for not making this clear before,but it is a multiplayer problem.I have tried to install 4 times each with the same result-UO stays at 1.41

ok, I will try to make this simple, there are basically two patches for CoD 1.4 and 1.5, There is one patch for UO 1.51, if you install CoD patch it to 1.4, then install UO which will be 1.41, after that, patch CoD to 1.5 and then patch UO to 1.51, all the patches can be found at the Codfiles site or at www.fileplanet.com , you will need to register for a basic account. You will also need to the mappack that was seperate from the patch for UO, the only place I have found this at lately is fileplanet. My suggestion is patch each game seperately, don't use the UO patch to patch CoD.

yep as Angel Eys says. It seems CeeFIT you haven't grasped the point: there are 2 pacthes: 1.5 for COD; 1.51 for UO.

OK.
So there are two different patches?When I googled for 1.51 I downloaded a patch which I had assumed to be 1.51,butwas in fact 1.5.When I tried to run it,I was told it was already installed so assumed that 1.5 and 1.51 wheir one and the same.
I did try the 3dgamers link,but it gave me a 'torrent' patch which I couldnt run,so I went to fileplanet and logged on with my old gamespy ID.Im currently downloading 'CODUO_PATCH.EXE'.
Hopefully this will get me back up and running.
Thanks for everyone for their help.Thanks especially to Tally,who posted more than once,even if he assumed I knew as much about the game as he did!
