Plz help - UO MP crashes
 

Hey there. Please help, i have a big problem. Whenever i play UO MP i can be playing for about 3 mins before it goes black and restarts my computer, i have v1.5. Any1 know what this is?

Ok.

AMD Athlon64 3.4 processor, 1024mb ram, Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT.

The funny thing is SP worked fine?.....

Its almost certainly your multiplayer pk3 files. They are prolly corrupt. You're going to need to check their sizes, or do a complete reinstall.

For the sizes of the pk3 files here is what they should be:

UO 1.41 pk3 file Sizes:

localised English pakuo00.pk3 123,141,455 bytes
pakuo00.pk3 162,980,955 bytes
pakuo01.pk3 165,818,400 bytes
pakuo05.pk3 725,304 bytes
pakuo06.pk3 238,582 bytes

Added from 1.51

localised English pakuo01.pk3 72,866 bytes
localised English pakuo02.pk3 3,772,796 bytes
pakuo02.pk3 166,227,647 bytes
pakuo03.pk3 146,286,848 bytes
pakuo04.pk3 163,831,126 bytes
pakuo07.pk3 3,129,841 bytes

Any file that isn't the right size, you can copy and paste the pk3 file over from the UO CDs. All the pk3 files are in folders called 'Data'. Just explore the CDs to find them.

If you don't want to do this, you could do a complete reinstall of UO, just to make sure. Then, when you've reinstalled, check the pk3 files for you new installation (which will be 1.41) against the list provided above. Same thing with the 1.51 patch - check the pk3 file sizes once upgraded.

ok thanks Tally, btw i have bought the delux addition so UO is being installed on top of GOTY addition, should that matter?

Ok tally, i checked like u said and in fact some pk files were not the size u stated but many were much smaller. Iv just reinstalled UO and now im going to apply 1.5 patch. Ill see how it gets on - Thanks.

Pissing hell - it happened again, i got into a game and 3 seconds in it crashed. I dont know what it can be, i reinstalled, checked the sizes were right and they were. Then checked again after i installed 1.5 - im baffled. Maybe my GOTY is corrupt. im gonna try reinstall the lot and download a new 1.5 patch incase thats damaged too. This is a damn waste of time.

Right well it may not be the pk3 files. If they are the right sizes, then there may be another cause of the crash. Try it again but before it crashes (if you've got time that is) drop down console and type: /condump error.txt

This will dump the console logs to a file called error.txt. Find it in the COD 'Main' folder. Read through it, or post it here, an it may give us some indication of what is happening.

when you reinstalled did you go into windows explore and delete your uo file in there too?

here is wat i had to do i had to unistall cod and coduo and then if u go to my computer>local disk>program files> u see that The call of duty folder is still there....DELETE IT then reinstall ur game and it should work
