Lol, hers is the most simple reason why, You probally have a router. And well, they dont allow you to host games on default setting. I am not a techie. I only know how to make mine work. However you have to allow the particular port through your router.

If you got a router, speak up, tell us the make.

keigan, I suggest you read the post I made about setting up a server. Download the PDF file I posted the link to.

Am I wasting my time here? I make posts with as much info as possible and ppl STILL come back with 'how can i do this?'

Yes, if you want to. Or you could just have a non-dedicated server. The difference is really only about whether or not you want to end the server when you finish playing. A dedicated server will be running in the background irrespective of whether you're playing on it or not. And it will be running as long as your pc is switched on, so others can come and go with out you having to be playing on it.

If you decide to run a non-dedicated server, start it up, then when your in a map (just pick any map it doesn't matter), drop down console and type: /exec server.cfg (or whatever you called your cfg file. And its best NOT to call it 'server.cfg'). This will execute the file, and take you to the default map in the rotation cycle. Then away you go. When your ready to quit, the server will stop with you.

If you do start a dedicated server, be sure to create the mp shortcut that is described in the Server Setup PDF file referenced above. This is the easiest way to start your server with the cfg file loaded already.

Also, make sure your pc's details are in the cfg file, i.e. IP, port address etc. And that the Master Server lists are in it, otherwise your server wont be listed, and no one will find you.

Once the dedicated server is running you must join it in one of 2 ways:

1. By opening COD via the regular mp shortcut (the only time COD will allow multiple instances of the game), and either search for your server via the server listings, or drop down console and type: /connect (server IP) <------ this is the server Ip address.

2. Using a server client like All Seeing Eye (free to download. Just google it), XFire (again free to download), or Gamespy (free to download). Then look for your server in the listings, or use the search facility on any of those programs to search for your server by name (i.e. whatever you've called it)

That's up to them m8. But the question is - is it showing in the master server lists? If it isn't, I suggest you post your server cfg file here and Ill check it for errors.

If it is showing but still nobody joining, well - I run a clan server - getting ppl to join, and worrying about it, is all part and parcel of running a server. Welcome to the party pal (as the man says in Die Hard).
