Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library, runtime error!!!

hi guys!
I have a error at my cod, ever when i play call of duty this error comes after some time:

Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library
runtime error!
program: programs\cod\codmp.exe
abnormal program termination

i dont know what i should do, i cant play any wars im so sad
i never had this error before, and im playing cod since release time,
my other games work normally, before i get new graphiccard it worked normally too, but then my old graphiccard get damaged, and so i had to buy a new,
and now i have this error...
please guys help me if you can

Sounds like an OS problem. But u could try reinstalling COD, see if that does the job.

What I think you should do is get your OS seen to. Maybe needs a reinstall.

What operating system do you have?? OS = windows 95,98,me,2000,xp,etc,etc

But do what Tally suggests and thats uninstall Call of Duty delte the folder
and then reinstall the game, but if you still get the same fault, please post back with your operating system info lol.

Make sure that you meet the minimum system requirements.

Make sure you have the latest video and sound card drivers from the manufacturers' websites.

Set your desktop to a resolution of 800x600, 32 bit True Color.
1) Right-click on your desktop and select Properties.
2) Click the Settings tab.
3) Set your screen area to 800x600.
4) Set the colors to 32 Bit (True Color). Under Windows NT this will be listed as 65554 colors.
5) Click Apply and OK

I have windows XP home edition (yeah), i already reinstalled cod, i also reinstalled windows! but error is till there, since i have new graphiccard, but i donwloaded latest drivers, and all other games work, so i think its not cuz of the graphiccard

i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. eXCEpt it happens with MOH. I have been trying to fix the problem for a month and everything i do does nothing. Get ready for weeks of tireless work to get you NOWHERE!!!

Here is what i have done

the usual BS with the drivers (why this is recommended i dont know, seems updates are made to keep a few more people employed), uninstalling the game (LOL), virus, adware, spyware, registry clean, defragment, scan disk, updating JAVA, current direct X, playing game in safe mode, turning off unneeded programs, etc.

So as you can see there is really no way to fix this problem, so I just restart the game. Also, i have searched the error over Yahoo and Google and after visiting 2-300 sites, NOTHING!!!!!

Oh and dont waste your time calling tech support, you would get better help from an inner city schoolboy. I am still working on a fix, but until i can find a method to fix it just check here before you try something yourself.

Hmmm... I remember having that problem three years ago while playing MOH. I believe it was a hardware incapatability problem that developed with my video card and my system. I tried a reformat which did not work. I changed my video card to a newer one and made a switch to an ATI radeon and it fixed the issue. Thats all I can tell you other than it drove me nuts to the point I was going to throw away the game.
