Cannot use Binoculars - pls help!

HI Guys,
Kharkov-1, misssion objective to take out all 3 anti tank positions using binoculars to bring in artilery support. Cannot use binocs, as per written instructions in manual. I know how to use them, but cannot get it to load "1" . Pls help. Thanks.

The default key for the binoculars in Multiplayer is 7, so you can try that

Seriously, I know in MP u have to wait a little while until somebody tells you: "Artillery Ready"...Maybe it`s the same here...(?)

yes you have to wait until you are a platoon sergeant and have so many points to be able to use binoculars(40 i think) In multiplayer that is.
