RESTRICTION: Inadequate O/S Privelages! - HELP!

ok...
i get the following error after about a minute of being in a game (any game).

Server Disconnected - "playerName" has been kicked via PunkBuster (for 0 minutes)...
RESTRICTION: Inadequate O/S Privelages

i have the latest patch (1.4) and it installed just fine.

i'm using a router (westell) and have had no problems in the past playing CoD, until recently.

one post in these forums that discussed a similar problem mentioned something about "putting my pc in the DMZ and run Zone Alarm and open all the CoD ports up manualy."

i've looked on different forums for the past few days and have tried a couple things...
1. i installed ZoneAlarm. - no help (with CoD anyways)
2. i enabled the CoD port (28960) in my router (westell)
- i figured that's what "opening the CoD port manually" means. (?)

what is DMZ and how do i put my pc in it?

i'd really like to start playing more and join a league soon. any help is greatly appreciated.
