Fix 4 PergamonMuseum !! (answer in first post...)

Hi,

Some dudes have problems loading v1.1 of PergamonMuseum (non-hob or hob-version).

After loading the map the game shuts down and a message is given:
"Hunk_AllocateTempMemory"-error.

I now have the solution for it.
Many said it was located in the map but i found out it is a value inside CoD that is set wrong.

Solution to fix "Hunk_AllocateTempMemory"-error!
For "PergamonMuseum_v1_1" & "HoB_PergamonMuseum_v1_1"

Once CoD has started bring down console and enter this:
/set com_hunkmegs 256
You should never allocate more than 75% of your total system memory.
You may experience problems with your computer system if you do.

You should get this:
com_hunkmegs will be changed upon restarting.
If you don't get this, use:
"...\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set com_hunkmegs 256
as your CoD-start-line.

Now quit CoD and start it again, load Pergamon.

And enjoy the fun !!!!!

Well..first that is fine if your PC has enough available RAM.

Secondly, while it is a great map....any map should not have you have to make adjustments to the game configuration to play it.

I do understand your point.
Making adjustments to a game (mod) can effect other functions of the game.
Also this adjustment is very small, so it will not mess up vital gameparts.

This map will load on machines with 180 MB:

----
Inside the error-message these lines are printed:
134217728 bytes total hunk
&
126992832 total hunk in use
It says that 134 MB is needed and 128 is available, implement a margin of 6 MB.

Now i also considerate "the 75%-rule of hunkusage" vs. "available RAM".
the minimum amount of RAM needed to play Pergamon is (140/3)*4 = 180 MB
----

I think that if you play Call of Duty you also have 180+ RAM.

Can u agree with me or am i missing a variable ??!
