Is there a way to replace the ppsh with a thompson?

Does anyone have any idea how to do this? I tried copying all the text out of the weapons file for the thompson and delete the text in the ppsh file, and simply paste the text from the thompson into the ppsh. I made a pk3 with the edited file and I got an error when I tried to load the game. Obviously I did it wrong. Can anyone help?

Yes, but why would you?? Anywho, try renaming the thompson model to the ppsh model name to see if you can at least get the model to work. If you can get that part the rest is pretty easy. But I'm not a modding genius, so don't take it as the gospel.
