How do you convert dm_2 file format?
 

I want to convert the demo (.dm_2) format to an mpeg or something so I can use it in a video... I don't know how to conver this file. Can someone here lead me in the right direction? Thanks BIG time!!!

You have to download FRAPS. That's a nice tool which will 'tape' almost every DirectX 3D game. More information is on the site.

Keep in mind that this is not a direct file conversion tool. You will have to start up CoD, play the demo, and start recording with FRAPS.

I would still like to convert the dm_2 file format to something more recognizable (avi, mpeg, etc....) Is there a converter out there?

That program is the best one to convert your files.

What you gotta do is run Fraps, then watch the demo... by loading CoD

~ to get console

/demo filename.dm_2



then press the key you set to start fraps (F9) i think is defualt and away it goes...



Fraps will make HUGE file sizes, cuz its RAW video. You must apply compression to that to make it smaller... That's a whole nother subject though. You should do some research on video editing basically to get your answers for that.

None that I know of. I don't think its possible.
