3ds Max & COD Mapping I'm new to mapping but I know many graphics applications and can model decently. Where can find out more information on mapping for COD using 3DSMax versus Infinity's Editor?!?!? Any suggestions for a newbie. FYI, I played around with several mapping programs in the past- didn't like many of the free ones out there... |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping download the codtools http://www.codfiles.com/file.info?ID=20750 there are other places to download if u wish |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping You can't use any other program AFAIK to create the files for CoD as IW are using a slightly different bsp file format. |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping Hi. I have got identical problem. I am doing conversion of quake dm2 map in 3dsmax 4.2 , and I have got questions : 1.Is there a exporter from max to *.map format to load it to COD radiant ( I will texture map in Radiant not in max so coordinates are not neccesery ). In pas there have been such converter fom max 1 to quake maps. My adress is romero9@wp.pl Thanks in advance , and sorry for my bad English. |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping We all use radiant. And like the guy said... IW used a slightly different .bsp format. Which also means the .map format is different too. Sorry... You'll just have to make it from scratch with CoDRadiant just like all the guys who have done CS -> SoF2 converstions have done. Find CoDTools.exe at www.codfiles.com. |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping I've been looking at the .map formats and I have figured out that it's quite easy to convert brushes made in GTK Radiant to cod radiant. it's just brushes and ents though, no texture coridinates or patches. However, I can't seem to work on anything in codr for too long before it starts causeing it to crash. |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping Wow... So many people get crashes with CoDRadiant. I myself have never had it crash on me.... |
Re: 3ds Max & COD Mapping have you tried opening the dawnvile.map? |
