Installing C&C 3

I recently bought C&C:3 and when I tried to install it on my computer It wouldn't. (I was able to install it on another computer easily) Im pretty sure the problem was that the C&C 3 disc is a DVD and my PC's drive is a CD drive. Anyone know ways to get around this? I have thought about copying the program and sending it to the computer, but I believe I would need the DVD to actually launch it. Its probably a shot in the dark but if you know something help would be appreciated.

The simple answer is "no". Its been proven that you can make special instalaltions of multiple cd based software to dvd but not the other way around. The only way to install it is to get a dvd player. They arent' overly expensive.
