El Hombre del Fuego should make some friends
Default Generals and Zero Hour Wont Start

OK I have a unique and interesting problem here. When trying to start Generals and Zero Hour recently, the program's autorun screen comes up, as does a loading screen. However, after the loading screen disappears, the game does not start. Any ideas?

Same issue with the two versions included in TFD as with the regular discs.

Just don't use auto run...

If you know the enemy
and know yourself,
you need not fear the result of a
hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy,
for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will
succumb in every battle.

I'm sorry, I meant that the loading screen pops up but the game fails to start. What could be causing this? It's driving me insane.

When that happens usually the game (or any other program) is running its just that there is another process conflicting with it. What you may want to to is open up your task manager and click on the "processes" tab. start up Generals and see what comes up onj the processes list. If you see anything that shouldn't be the (IE: 2 generals.exe's) showing up at the sametime) the end the conflicting process and generals should start working.

you need not fear the result of a
hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy,
for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will

umm there doesnt necessarly have to be 2 generals.exe's starting up, it can be another process. Well you'll know if its agraphical error with the game when you boot it up and screne flickers black then just returns to the desktop.
