I just downloaded a Mod

I just got my first C&C mod. As i'm sure, they are meant for multiplayer. But would they activate in a single player skirmish? And if they would how?

Each mod is different. Sometimes, they tell you in the readme other times you have to experiment

there r mods that create a new icon for the mod.
others you activate through the origianl Generals icon.
