:beer: You have to come to WI for the beer. Ok I bought a brand new toshiba satellite model m65-s9092. You can go to www.bestbuy.com for specs if u need them to help me. I install c&c generals and it appears to install fine. When I launch it, it encounters a serious error and shuts down. I do have administrative rights, all the antivirus, firewalls and windows security shut down. I bought this cpu the other day and generals was the first thing I tried to put on it. Since then I have installed other programs with no problems. The problem seems to lie somewhere in my documents. After install I check my documents and there are no files there for c&c. From prior installs on other machines I know there is supposed to be. The file that it wants to send microsoft for the error report is "C:\DOCUME~1\Aaron\LOCALS~1\Temp\f78f_appcompat.txt " :beer: Thanx in advance..........cheers

That doesnt look like a C&C problem mate...looks more like some software problem

Sometimes your tempory files interfear with things , you should first try unistalling the game then going to your Tempory folder and deleting EVERYTHING in there accept for the stuff it dosent alow your to delete , dont worry because none of this will damage your computer then reinstall the game and try it now.

Alright after you've done that, try uninstalling Generals, then delete the Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals directory, then install it. If it doesn't work then, it's gotta be a rather nasty problem.

if it still don't work, try getting updates for both the system and the game
