NoDVD for Mods?

I was wondering if its possible to have the game run using a NoDVD crack with the mods? My sons DVD rom stopped working other day but I wanna play modded game with him, would be nice to have the noDVD cracked exe we already have on his to work with the mod too... is it possible? or does it already exsist? Not sure if it redirects to same exe or, if its a totally different program that runs off the game browser thing. Thanks in advance.

Oh ya forgot to say this is for C & C 3 Tiberium Wars.

A MOD is basically just a modification of exsisting units and buildings or perhaps all new ones. When you start a mod from the game browser you start up the main Execetuable from the original game telling it to run with a the extra/modified units that the mod adds to the game.

So basically yes. You should be able to run a legal game with a NoDVD crack even if you run mods.

Here's another suggestion: Since you appearently run a network try this:

Right-Click your DVD-ROM drive in your machine and select "Sharing and Security". Choose to share the root of the drive (ignore any warnings. No one can change the data on the drive anywho).

Physically disconnect the faulty DVD drive from your sons machine so that it dosn't show up in the system.

Now go to your sons computer and right-click "My Computer". Right-Click and select "Map Network Drive" and find your DVD Drive on your machine. (if your computers name is "harry" and your DVD Drives Sharename is d the adress to the drive would be this: \\harry\d). Make Sure you assign the drive letter that the faulty DVD drive had to the new drive, and voila: When you put in the CnC3 disk into your drive he will also have a "DVD-Drive" with the CnC3 disk in it.

Need assistance to do this?!? Write it here.

This is in my opinion a better solution since you wont have to download some No-DVD crack from a unreliable source that could contain Viruses or Spyware. Also: you can download 100 "Cracks" and none of them work. Usually you cant update CnC3 with a No-DVD crack either.

It can all be found within our forum guidelines. ;)

I'm not familiar with this game's EULA, but almost every game allows only one copy of the game to be running at any one time. You can install it on as many computers as you wish, they just can't be running simultaneously. Just a little bit of extra information...

No, its a forum wide rule. We just need to whip an update out of the admins.

Well.... if i'd made a mistake im sorry. A little in my defence i read and still read the message as if the problem is not that he hasn't got two disks but rather that a drive was inoperable. Otherwise i wouldn have helped guide him (read some of my posts related to downloads and you will know that im not liying).

As i remember the general law, it is not illegal to use a no-cd crack for your game as long as you own the licence. As there has also been said: nothing illegal in installing a game on several computers as long as only one of them run at a time.

Basically you can do whatever you like with a single licence as long as it stays on your computer and you only run as many games simultaniously as you have licences.

And please correct me if im wrong.
