Default Synch problem with INI.big file

I made a backup copy of the INI.big file so I can edit it. I use BigPop to replace the extracted INI files with the ones I edit. The game plays with the edited INI.big file and all the mods work.

When I want to play online, I switch the INI.big files around placing the moded file on my desktop and the original back in the gererals folder so I dont have any mods in place.

The problem is the game will still call a mismatch. Can anyone help me out?

Do you know what file the game checks for a synch match while loading an online game?

I deleted the files the game creats when you first start playing, "Command and Conquer Generals Data", thinking they might store some data from any moded game I have played. Ofcourse this didnt do anything to help.

DONT replace the files! What you need to do is put the ini files in folders in the ZH directory. Then, take them out or use a different path to play online. Also, it may be that if you are using ZH, the file is actuallt called INIZH.big.

i dont bother with big files, i just use the data art directories, also you can have multiple mods this way by simply renaming ini too TMINI for example while the other file is called Ini, im using this method so i can play my mod, help my mate with his mod, play PR and SW

ok I will try that. Im playing generals right now, not ZH.

So reinstall to fix everything. Then extract the files I need to edit and place those files in the Data folder.
