particle effects

I'm wondering how to make particle effects for Zero Hour for I am creating a mod and I consider some of the current effects to be plain and boring.

Is there a special tool I need to make them? or do I have to use worldbuilder or something like that?

there is no special tool, all you have to do is mess around with particlesystems.ini and FXList.ini, make sure you make backups of the files first however, simply experiment by changing values and see what happens, dont change the shader tho

Re: particle effects

The Microwave tank and ECM tank use partcle effects correct? Like on the top of it where the "turret" is, how it is bright, etc? I made a model and it's futuristic, so it is floating and I need particle effects on the bottom of it so its not plain on the bottom, so you can see that its floating. Is particle effects pretty much the same thing?

Thanks by the way

Re: particle effects

for that you would probably use particlesysbone update, make the bone on the botton of the model then in the art code, default conditionstate put
ParticleSysBone = None SmokeM1Buk;MissileDefenderMissileExhaust
the none is the bone name, the name next to it on the right is the particlesystem
