Ok, This Is Weird! For my mod, I am trying to code a lowtech European faction. In the INI folder, I made the following additions: In PLAYER TEMPLATES, I copied the GLA faction template, and made the necessary changes. In OBJECTS, I copied the GLA infantry file and the GLA vehicle file. I changed the GLA labels appropriately. In SCIENCES, I gave my new faction GLA generals powers In COMMANDSETS, I gave all of the new units, buildings, and general's powers commandsets. In FACTION BUILDINGS, I copied the GLA buildings, and made the appropriate changes. In COMMANDBUTTONS, I put in the necessary entries for all of the new stuff. The only thing I didn't do is add new building/unit upgrades. I feel that may be the problem, as the faction is still using GLA upgrades. But this is really weird - the Zero Hour game crashes whenever I try to open it, but Worldbuilder works just fine! It can detect no problems with my additions! I can even build a map and use my new faction in it! |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! Look through what you recently edited in commandset. This happend to me once but it was due to a command button problem (This was the error "CCommand_constru...") |

So be ceaful with the Cappitals. |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! Yeah its probably a spelling mistake WB DOESNT detect commandset and commandbutton errors |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! Try to nowwow the file down to try to file the file with the error. |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! Do, or do not. There is no try. |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! well if world builder doesn't detect the error then the release crash info should... it will be in my documents/command and conquer generals zero hour data/releasecrashinfo it should tell you what button is causing the problem P.S. you have to start up zero hour before it will tell the right problem... |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! It doesnt always though, alot of the time it may say Exception in game engine, or something. |
Re: Ok, This Is Weird! Well, technically, that is the problem. Unfortunatley it doesn't help you find the error :(. |
