All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) I'm plan on making a forom for Final Conflict itself,but until then,i'l post all i have in this topic.I would think that's better than messing up the entire forum with all those topics...:uhm: At first,i would like to apologise for my terrible english.Speaking it isn't a problem,but the writing...Anyway,ignore the numerous errors and proceed... I have always wanted to create a mod for Generals,but i came to the conclusion that i don't know anything about modding,skinning,texturising,...all that stuff.But i had quite some ideas for a mod.So i decided to write everything down.The following list includes all units,structures and abilities of the 3 factions;as you will see,the number of units and structures have increased drasticaly.Numerous new units have been introduced,some of an existing mod i liked alot,some of my own design.If you like any unit,just contact me and i'll send you some sketches of how they look.Feel free to use them... Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) Story In the late 21st century,the struggle for power between the three large factions,the United States of America,the Empire of China and the Global Liberation Army,had grown out to a fullfledged war.A war that maintained its stability,never realy turning to one faction's advantage.That changed,however,when the Chinese faction went shopping... They managed to steal an abandoned Japanese military project:GAIA. GAIA,wich stood for Global Artificial Intelligence Array,was a military A.I.,developed to control and command the troops in wartime.But Japan abandoned the project,when they found out that it was too risky;if GAIA was only half as powerfull as they considderd her to be,they might not be able to control her,and God knew what that could lead to... The Empire of China,however,payed no heed to this warning,and took the A.I. program. When they activated GAIA,there was no sign whatsoever,that she was dangerous.So GAIA became China's main weapon in the war. Things soons started turning to China's advantage;with the new technologies,designed by GAIA,the Drone Divisions,China gained more and more power... Until a moment came that China started realising,something was very wrong with their combat A.I.;squadrons were given orders no General had given;misile strikes and bombardements were initiated without anyone's aproval,... China came to the dreaded conclusion:they no longer controlled GAIA... A final attempt to shut her down,was a fatal mistake:GAIA faught back with everything her master had given her:the full strength of the Chinese warmachine. GAIA had a made a distinct conclusion about Mankind:they were a threath! A threath to her and to the survival of this world.Such an abomination could not be left alive... In no time she had taken over the command of the Chinese Drone Divisions and the US ' Robot Division.To make matters worse,the US GenCorps supported GAIA in her point of Mankind being a threath,cause they joined her to eradicate us all... We are now left with but one option... Previous attempts have proven that divided,we are no match for GAIA's forces.If we are to survive this,we must work together as a Race! Not as the USA,not as China,or the GLA. Petty differences as Power,Honor and Faith,are insignifincant,when it concerns the survival of Mankind.If we want to make it trough this,we must put aside our differences,and fight as one! Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) Modified Units,Structures and Abilities NOTE:Do know,that due to the large increase in units and their upgrades,the number of structures and Dozers has increased the same;now there will be several types of dozers,one for each type of structure. 1.USA Infantry Marine:the basic US Trooper,armed with the basic machinegun and the flash bangs,but now given two new upgrades: · Frag Grenades:very effective against large groups of infantry · Mortir Launcher:takes some time to deploy,but is very usefull against base defenses and garrisoned structures. RPG Trooper:our usual anti-tank soldier has been upgraded with these two goodies: · Armor Break:gives the bazooka a little more punch (+25%) · EMP Shell:adds a second type of ammo for the RPG (selectable):for taking out Armor Divisions fast... Machinegunner:a unit that carries a heavy machinegun,effective against both tanks and infantry.To fire the weapon however,it must be deployed.This is a long proces,and the unit is a sitting duck once discovered,so,it is best they have some backup.This unit is best used as a defender.Upgrades: · High Velocity Bullets:increases the weapon-damage (+25%) · Camo Pit:creates a small shelter for the soldier,cloaking him when not firing,and offering him more defense to enemy fire (+25%) Navy Seal:the good old Special Forces jump in to save the day;armed with an assault rifle,for basic use;a combat knife,to kill infantry,and C4 explosives (timed and manual detonation).They can choose between two weapons when upgrading: · RPG Launcher · Sniper Rifle only one of these weapons can be chosen (like the choiseof weapon on a Helix or the Overlord) Oh,before i forget,the Seal is cloaked when not moving,and he can swim (otherwise he would'nt be a Seal,now would he?) Riot Trooper:a heavily armored infantry unit,armed with a shock rifle;trained to stand against large numbers of infantry.These soldiers are very good against masses like the Angry Mob and the Red Division,whose strength lies in their great numbers.Upgrades: · Advanced Kevlar:offers more protection (+25%) · Teargas Grenades:takes out infantry fast Laser Soldier:armed with a high-precision laser rifle;this unit is only effective against incoming misiles,making this a defensive unit.Upgrades: · Advanced Training:increases range and reaction speed (+25%) · Multi-Lock:increases firing speed (less time to reload) Doctor:an unarmed unit with a small healing aura,very usefull in bunkers or garissoned structures.Can be upgraded with: · UN Training Course:increases speed of healing aura (+25%) · Frontline Practice:increases unit speed and health (+25%) Pathfinder:well,i did'nt improve the Sniper,since i find him good the way he is.Only,since i need the space for other promotions,he is no longer a General's Promotion,but you receive him from the start. Angel:a unique unit (only one can be trained );she is the US counterpart of China's Red Lotus,an infiltration unit,who can steal cash from enemy supply centers and hijack an enemy vehicle.She can call in reinforcements and an EMP-airstrike.She is permanently cloaked;only units with an 'anti-cloak' ability can spot her,so it's best to have them around your base... Gen Corps An elite infantry division,existing of geneticaly engineered fighting machines,possesing inhuman abilities. Pyrokynetic: (male) infantry unit that can control fire,attacking its enemy's with blasts of fire (napalm effect);medium armoured,short range unit;upgrades: · Firestarter Fury:increases attack damage (25%) · Gen Corps Shotgun:adds an anti-armour short range shotgun (selectable) Guardian Angel:a fast (female) unit that creates a protective shield to the surounding units (ECM style);few armour;caries light machinegun as defensive weapon;upgrades: · Defender Training:increases shield range (25%) · Gen Corps Kevlar Armour:increases armour (25%) Regenerator: (male) combat unit with ecxeptionaly regenarative (auto-heal) abilities;medium armoured,short range and slow;caries heavy machinegun with armour piercing bullets;upgrades: · Gen Corps Training Course:increases unit speed (25%) · Advanced Regen:increases auto-heal speed (25%) Seraphim: (female)infantry unit capable of going aiborne;'Seraphim',meaning 'Angel' is the most apropriate name for this lovely winged lady;but looks can be deceiving:the Seraphim is one of the most brutal units in the Gen Corps;capable of mutilating infantry units with her elbow blades,and wrecking armour divisions with a powerful energy blast,the only unit the Seraphim sees as her superior,is her brother,the Ultimate Trooper...The Seraphim is extremaly fast when airborne,but must land to attack infantry units (close range elbow blades),other targets can be attacked while airborne (medium range energy blast);Seraphim upgrades: · Genetic Regeneration:provides auto-heal ability · Seraphim X:increases speed,damage,armour and range Ultimate Trooper:the American's unit of the 'Chaos Series',as i call them; a genetic experiment with superhuman abilities;he runs much faster then a normal human (he can keep up with a GLA Combat Cycle,does that say enough?),he heals himself on the move (healing aura),cloaked units can't escape him,he can kill infantry from a distance by means of a mental attack,and carries two high caliber machineguns with armor piercing bullets to take out vehicles.The downside of this unit is that he's extremely expensive,and you have got to do quite some research before you can train him.Plus,he's a Three Star General promotion...He can be upgraded with: · Psychic Shield:creates a forcefield around the unit that stops misiles (like an ECM) and reduces shell damage up to 50 % · Instant Healing:when not moving,the unit moves even faster then usual. With another General's Promotion,you can upgrade the Ultimate Trooper into the: Psycho Core,giving him a new ability:Rage,a devastative outburst of energy that destroys all around the unit (MOAB impact),but deals massive damage to the unit itself (80 %),mostly resulting in self-destruction. |

The Nova is unarmed and does not posess much armour,so take out all enemy units in his way first,if you don't want him to explode between your own troops... Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) Navy Raft:a small,cloaked rubber raft that can transport 5 infantry units;unarmed,cheap;upgrades: · Twin Engine:increases speed (+25%) · Advanced Raft:increases the amount of open slots to 10,but decreases the speed by half Hovercraft:gets a Vulcan Cannon and two new upgrades: · Advanced Turbines:increases speed (+25%) · AA Misiles:adds an anti-aircraft misile rack to the default arsenal LANF 'White Shark':Low Altitude Naval Fighter;this is not a ship,but actually a jetfighter,capable of flying at extreme low altitudes,right above the water surfaces,below the radar (meaning he's cloaked),firing his heavy payload misile rack at its target,then returning at the same altitude,but slower (so he's a low altitude Aurora,to say so).Because of this low altitude,the LANF can only be used in naval combat,and not above land,due to the many obstacles it would be impossible to fly so low over land;at sea,the only obstacle is your target.This is a unit,designed to take out enemy naval units,extremely fast and devastative,but very expensive...Upgrades: · Pinpoint Precision:increases sight and firing range (+50%) · Hull Breakers:drasticaly decreases amount of misiles fired,but increases damage(misiles become Tomahawk-like) Misile Cruiser:a medium range attack vessel,armed with sea-ground and sea-air misiles,both fired in volleys of 5.long reload,slow and expensive,but good defender;upgrades: · Sonar Systems:detects sea mines,subs and torpedos · Advanced Engines:increases speed (+25%) Aircraft Carrier:the pride of the US Navy;carries 20 King Raptors that respawn and reload at the ship;these class A Fighters do not rest until they have eradicated their target.Downside is the mindblowing pricecard and the fact that a snail goes faster then this ship...upgrades: · Advanced Hull:increases armour (+25%) · Fusion Reactor:increases speed (+75%) Robot Division Unlike the chinese drones,the US robots don't run on A.I.,but on simple programming;this makes that the US units have a lower reaction time then the Chinese drones.THey're also much more expensive,but they're more heavily armoured,and have some heavy firepower... Assault Structures (Superweapons) Particle Cannon:now does less damage,but lasts longer;can be upgraded to: · High Density Particle Cannon:uses 10 times more power then the original and takes longer to charge (15 min),but is 3 times more devastating. Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) Drone Divisions Lately China has been doing some serious investements in Robotics research,giving them the control over large groups of mass production Battle Drone Divisions;these spider-like machines are expensive,but most of them are fast and agile,and their construction time mostly lies very low,making it easy to construct them in masses.These automated weapons were designed due to the rising threat of the GLA.The Global Liberation Army's deadly antrax weapons proved disasterous to China's most important power:it's soldiers.The GLA's toxins decimated China's troops in no time.A solution had to be found quickly.That came with the creation of the Drone Divisions,unmanned,so imune to the deadly toxins... NOTE:to be able to construct the drone Divisions,you must first have constructed GAIA needed to control the drones (explained later);otherwise you won't be able to build any drones. Gattling Drone:a light and fast drone unit,armed with a quickfire gattling gun,good vs infantry and aircraft. Flechette Drone:a unit,a bit heavier and slower then the gattling drone,but takes care of infantry faster.Purely an anti-infantry unit. Sniper Drone:equiped with a long range sniper rifle;anti-infantry;cloaked;the only Drone Divisions unit that can detect stealth (that's the drone's weak spot:they can't detect stealth;in essence,they're just dumb robots...);very fast Tank Drone:a large drone unit,equiped with an anti-tank cannon,devastating in groups.heavy but still a nice speed. Rising Sun:China's most devastative drone is one of my 'Oblivion Series':like the US Nova Drone,the Rising Sun can take a serious bite out of the enemy base,when used correctly.This drone unit has only one function:drive to the designated area,then detonate its nuclear reactor,causing massive damage and fallout spread over a huge area.This is a very slow,lightly armoured and expensive unit,plus it's a 3 star General Promotion. I just have to place the upgrades per unit on the unit itself,like with the overlord.All those upgrade centers aren't needed! Oh,by the way, I've come to the final number of units: due to the number of GLA units,i will have to add several other units to USA and China.All together,each faction gets 65 combat units (66 if you add the 'Mission-only' Hero units) Oh,and PLEASE,if you have an opinion,or you think i have to make changes in my units,tell,me! |
Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) More changes (and more work): i'm adding a complete new faction:GAIA;besides certain structures and units she takes over from the other factions,she will still need her own. I can already tell that GAIA researches robotics and genetics,so there will be a lot of drones and genetic experiments;the keywords are numbers and quick deployment,so she will have mobile war factories and stuff like that. Oh,by the way,i'm not gonna say anything about the number of combat units per faction anymore until i'm sure of it,cause i keep coming up with new ones.I'll probably have to draw a line somewhere,but hey,they can still be used elsewhere. Maybe its time to start scanning my sketches? Atleast then you would have something visual,so u actually have an idea of what they look like. Some of them are units already created by someone else (reminds me i gotta add their names to the 'thank you' list),like the Emperial Overlord design comes from the 'Last Stand Mod',if i'm correct. Unlike GAIA,these 2 ARE combat units,and they may look a bit naked,in reality they're covered with some sort of cellular armor,you might say.Because of this,they're coloured white,and have no face (exept for the eyes),wich makes them less 'naked' Mmm,maybe they're a bit hard to model or skin,or to make 'em move realistic. Your opinion,please? |
Re: All about Final Conflict (instead of 100 topics) This stuff is more stylish than effective. Look at real military equipment - plenty of rough edges and usually very dirty, but it works. I would suggest making them more, or less, human as well. What good are huge wings? They just give away your position and let you fly. Flying means getting taken down by airplanes. Cellular armor? Very fictional, because cells aren't going to protect you. |

Speaking of wich,i have ANOTHER question (hey,i'm taking every chance): I have an idea (should scan it in next time) for a few laser-type weapons: a linear cannon,wich fires a huge devastative energyblastcan you like change the look of the normal laser to a bigger,more bright energy-like beam? a plasma tank,wich fires the same kind of energy as the linear cannon,but in a blast,not a beam:how can you imitate that? Oh,and can you make a unit 'imune'to certain effects,like toxins or nuke fallout? I've got a question about an anti-air unit with multiple lasers,but i need a sketch to be able to explain it decently...:tank: |

Have you seen Resident Evil Apocalypse? No?See it,its a blast! Yes?Like Nemesis?Like Gears! They're big,ugly slow and not very bright,but they're also powerfull! And cheap,so they come in packs...
