Another of my crazy schemes
 

Ok, first of all, I hereby apologize to everyone who I've insulted in the past, I know I can be a little strange at times. Also, I apologize for being so defensive about my "Ireland" idea, I have learned to take criticism now,

Now, on with business. I want to make the Global Liberation Army more global. I want to add new generals or replace two of the old ones with other terrorist groups. The new generals, in my opinion, should have their own building designs and their own unit models/ skins and voices.

For the new terrorist groups, I think the Provincial IRA (surprise!) should replace the demolitions general, and the Columbian cartel (or the militia group that fights them, not the government, though) should replace the stealth general.

Before you ask, I can make basic models on GMax, they suck, but I can make them. I can't skin at all, either.

Please share your opinions, and please help me.

Yes, your innate suckiness at Gmax is not held alone, I too can barely model my way out of a paper bag.

Anyway, i'm not too knowledgable in terrorist groups, but it seems to me you should replace the Columbians with southeast asian freedomfighters, guerrila's, with special anti-infantry bonuses, it'd at least balance out that Cocky chinese infantry general.

Gale Force, I will consider your suggestion. The reason I chose the Columbians is so their would be a terrorist group in the Americas. However, can anyone tell me if the Viet Cong are still around? Because they would be my choice, if only because they are the only such faction I know of in Asia.

Ha i know what you mean with g-max, I think we all have a better chance of seeing Jesus Christ again before i make a decent model in g-max. Anyways about the Vietcong i think there still around im not sure (Have a look on the web) if there not still around i think theres more than likely another commie party in controll (wouldnt surprise me).

I'd like to report that my modelling skills have gone from "look, I made a ball" to "Craptastical" (thank god for tuts), so if you need any help with models, I can help just so long as they don't need to be too detailed.

Ive been doing some brainstorming about this. Basically, I think we should make two new generals per side, combining unit types, etc. from two of the existing generals. Example:

Airforce/Laser General with Laser raptors and Stealths, but no Laser tanks or turrets (or turrets just intercept missiles, like a stationary Avenger)

Laser/SW General with vastly improved particle cannon, EMP beams for base defense, but no tanks, etc

Nuke/Infantry General: Hehehe... this should be interesting

Tank/Infantry general: Overlord transport, better troop transportation

IRA General: Stealth/Explosives combined. All new models and textures to look more makeshift and run down. Poor base defense, but Camoflauge affects all infantry units. Also rename Jarmen Kell to something more Irish. Instead of suicide bomb truck, how about some coding where a pilot-like guy comes out when you press a button, and then in like 5 seconds the truck blows. Anyone like it?

Toxin/Stealth General from wherever.

Nice.

For Toxin/Stealth they could Camo the scud Launchers, but the tradeoff is that they only get Toxin Warheads. Also, all infantry are camoe'd (except Terrorists, I mean, A guy with dynamite strapped all over his body isnt exactly going to "blend in") and start out with Toxin Missles and Toxin Sprayers.

I like the IRA General that sound pretty good, you could have a unit like the terrorist but he drives a car packed with explosives, leaves and you can detonate it manually ( like the demo trap) What do you reckon?

High praise from you, panda. I can not stress enough my regret at being so protective of my last idea.

As for firey units, I think some things would be interesting to try. Such as tire fires that create a miss ratio for weapons. Of course, the wimpy assed dragon tank will get an overhaul, and maybe some Molotoz cocktails for the Provos or the As-yet-undecided other terrorist network. Or both. The Migs could use better, more realistic napalm too...

Anyone with any skill in modeling, Ini editing, sound editing, coding, and anything else would be appreciated.

In that case, anyone who posseses any modding skills at all or who can help with ideas would be a welcome addition to the team, that is, once there is a team. For a while, the mod will be based in this thread. I will try to make as many models as I can, but as (I think) I stated before, I suck.

Cattman2236, I would appreciate any help you can give if it does not trouble you much. Ditto for gat and anyone who thinks this will be interesting.

Ok, I'll look into them as the other new GLA side.

Anyone interested in helping with the mod can start as soon as it is convinient to them. All work on the mod will be completed at the worker's convienience.

The schedule has not yet been formed for the mod. I'll work on that now.

EDIT: I made a van on RenX, could someone please tell me how to take screenshots in it and post screenshots/attachments here at GF? I never figured that out...I want to show you how bad I am. I also made this tank a while ago the REALLY sucks...I mean, its so bad it'll hurt you eyes.

Well, for starters I think the base for most of the PIRA side should be vans. I attempted one, but it came out horribly. If you want, you can make a basic model and we can change it into all kinds of nice stuff later on, like camoflauge nets hanging off it, fifty cals, missiles, that kind of thing. Everything else, I'll have to think up.

Yeah sure ill see what i can do mate. I know that Generals has loads of civillian vans in game(in the w3d file). Ill try and see if i can to make them look abit more harmful haha.

The Viet Kong got wiped out By the Khemer Rouge although they do still exist they are no longer a threat to anyone really and most of the former memebers have dispersed into other terror cells. I have 2 questions related to your mod. Does it have a name? and how realistic is it going to be?

As of right now, no name. Right now it will fit in with the current level of realism, but if I can get a large team together thats willing to put the time in, we may change that.

Have you downloaded my mod then??? . I did manage to do some coding for the Van you wanted, but if you want a really fantastic modder you should speak with Anus_Panda(just post on my thread or something) he is absolutely brill mate(he done most of my models for my mod). As for me im into the INI part of things. Also about your idea about clashing the 2 mods together intrests me, I shall get onto that idea with thinking. I could start on a new faction for you if you wanted, but i think we may need a few more people.

Can you please make a beaten up tank? Dont even base it on a real one, just make it look all shot up. Moreso than the scorpian. We'll think of a name later. Also, if you can make a FREE website, I'd appreciate that. I have very little time to do that, with school coming up and the fact that I just moved.

Do you mean like the Battlemaster_D, Crusader_D, but the techinical should take some time, it all depends on what sort of chassis you want for the techinical(because it has about 3).

i think what he means is when you click to build a standard tank you get one of the 3 damaged tanks from the other sides(i.e. battlermaster crusader,scorpian(i would have the murader instead).
like the technical builds the 3 diferent chasis.
