?How to make structures function without a player?

I tried to post this on the modding forum and am getting very little feedback so thought I would try here.

Concept: I would like to place several patriot batterys in key locations to restrict air traffic to ALL players.

Requirements: They would need to be self powered and self functioning

I have managed to get them self powering (but america also has them)...unfortunately they scan the sky but don't shoot at anything. Here are their current settings:

Ah yes, the old rebel forces fighting against all....I attempted this once with a set of AA Trucks. You have to setup borders or trigger areas in your scripts first of all. These will notify the Turrets or Vehicles that the enemy is in the area, and not just some unit. You also need to set the scripting to override the alliance settings on the turrets, make it so they are enemies no matter what. Another thing that will help your scripts, you may or may not run into this, is to name the turrets all different names. Sometimes the scripting will ask for a specific unit and that is where that comes into place.

As far as my AA Truck rebels working....well...lets just say they were asleep for a long time and never woke up. As for trigger areas, I can definitely say that they work, I made an undead army that was controlled by a tower and it functions nicely

If you run into problems with the rebels I would suggest trying something a little more reliable......such as empty tanks that can only be driven so far before they explode......<<<<look for that script in my upcoming Border Patrol map :type:
