Realism Mod Recruiting
 
I have been working on a mod since a week after Generals was released. This mod is not yet for Zero Hour. Basically, I have changed just about every single value in the game to match real world equivalents so that the game is as realistic as possible. If you decide to join my mod team, I will send you version 0.4 of my mod for Generals.

Needed positions:

Animator, Texture artist, Modeler, INI coder, Mappers, Sound Editors, and play testers.

I have done mostly everything that I can do alone, I am constantly trying to learn new tutorials on how to add more things to the mod, but school gets in the way. Eventually, I want to re-create Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

I still need to replace faction buildings, certain units, radio(unit select) sounds, textures, Faction Names, certain animations, make new maps, and add some new particle effects i.e. helicopter dust, rocket backblast etc... Keep in mind that my intention is for this to be HIGHLY realistic and serious.

Well, i could make a few Beta Tests for you :D I'm searching all the Time for an Mod like this, tried it myself a few Months ago to create such a big Mod, but at the half Work, i gave up...

Okay, right now my mod is at version 0.4, that means that I have made everything that is in Generals already that I also want to keep for my mod, very realistic. I just need some way of getting the main .BIG file to you.

I can e-mail the file to you. I tried sending this to generalsfiles.com, but they didn't ever read it or put it up for download. It comes in at 3.26 megs zipped in .rar format so I can't put it in this thread, it is 1.26 mb too big.

Hmmmmm. This reminds me of my own little mod I was working on forever about 5 months ago. I had the same goal in minds, including creating a balanced economy and all that. Was really kinda fun making it in my spare time, I had the bradley, abrams, apache, commanche, humvee, mlrs, raptor, and stealth bomber in it. My pride and joy were the mlrs and bomber. I actually got the bomber to drop a cluster-bomb like weapon. Oh the humanity of hitting a bunch of infantry with it. Anyways, the whole point of this rambling is this, if you want some help with ini coding I can offer my services. Unfortunately I have since uninstalled/deleted my generals and only 2 weeks ago did I reinstall the game (finally got zero hour). But I still remember how to code all the new things I had created. So if you looking for anything like what I've mentioned let me know.

Also, I had created grenadiers, flamethrower infantry, toxin troopers and several other units that I cant recall right now. Regardless, I have experience if your looking for it.

I Remember a mod like this i helped worked, it was called "True War" and was for Red Alert 2, it was brill mod and it was really fun makeing it, i would help in anyway i can with your mod. :dance: :frog:

Etherealsilk and wrtworthy, I will definitely accept your help. I have a .rar file that includes my latest version and a long .txt file that includes all of my goals for the mod and if you guys feel like adding any of those goals, then let me know. I just need some way of getting the files to you. Thanks for the interest!

Just a quick question,

will you be making this mod, so that the dead vehicle and infantry hulks stay on the battlefield, and at the end of a battle there are dead infantry and tanks and other vehicles littered around ?

I like to see that in a realism mod.

I am making them last longer, but not too long, due to performance issues on computers with less than a gig of ram.

Hi! I was too working on a realism mod some time ago when battatta was around. But school made me stop working on it, since I was working alone. I't hard if you cannot model and skin.

Now I'm working on a mod for me and those that like realistic war.

I made every tank able to switch between armorpiercing and explosive shells, the abrams, T-72 and the T98 cna also shoot with a machinegun.

The nighthawk is equpped with a bunkerbuster and can switch between it and normal missiles.

Every vehicle has a button that when pressed exits the pilot from the vehicle and makes able every infatry to drive it.

I've added allot new units to game which people like to see. My friends came with wishes.


However... I would like to help out with some coding since I love the idea of making such a mod!

My email is wrtworthy@yahoo.co.uk, my AIM is wrtworthy and my ICQ..erm im at my works comp which dont have it, so ill email it you, will you be haveing one shot kills from tanks? aircraft etc?

Also i sugguest you look up the MOD "true war" for Red alert 2 (ive got a copy if you would like it) it will give you a good idea of what units and game code you can do, also try and contact the team that did it, and get them aboard to join and help.

Excellent, I will e-mail you a copy of my mod it has tons of research and level outlines for maps to make, I am not very good with World Builder though.

I am going to run MSN Messenger on Saturday the 3rd of January at 7:00 PM Mountain Time. I can upload my mod through that since I have tried e-mail and it was too big. Right now im removing the bombtruck and making bombcars.
Something like the technical, once you build one it triggeres the random building of three diffirent cars.

I suggest we make it so that the Stealth Bomber can drop a nuke instead of its small and ineffective payload. I do know that it is the Stealth Nuke mod. Sarge, if you want, I'll make that happen. Just give me the signal.

cloakedfigure do you know where to get models like those we need. And maybe do you know anyone that models and can help us?

It's hard to find modelers nowdays :(

No, unfortunately, I do not know where we can find such a person. Mr. Tinkles is a modeller I think, but he might be buisy with something else. I suggest we make another post requesting a modeller for our team. Good idea?:uhm:

Well ... we could try but chances are low to get anyone to join us since everyone is working on something.

But we can ask for the models :naughty:

I gotta check with Sarge if he ever gets online what units we need, but now I'm going to get some healthy sleep :yawn:

INI code is my somewhat of specialty. I will need to brush up, haven't played for a while. And about true war, it's back. It's for generals though. If you need an excelent model of the apache, i can send it to you.

No problem I have found some F16 on my harddrive ... and our modeler will take care of it ...

I like your idea n iwouldn't mind joining your team as a play tester. I love for military games to be as real as posible. So in a way i am a perfectionist when it come 2 war games!:tank:

Did you find out how to paradrop units from a buildable cargo unit. Like a chinook that emptys its payload by giving the units parachutes instead of throwing them out the back?

Also you seem to be using the Chinese bomber instead of the cargo plane to paradrop units :)

Hello im the modeler for the EF modding crew. The file Snake attached earlier is actually the old one, shame on you snake, the new one is more realistically skinned and is twice as large. BTW check out my model for the T-54.
