Default Logitech MX-500 mouse buttons

Has anyone experienced difficulty getting hte 4th and 5th mouse buttons to work for binds in CoD? If so, have you been able to work around this? I cannot make use of the 4th and 5th mouse buttons, and since my fingers are there, I'd like to utilize them! TIA for any help!
