To use the fs_game function (which is really the best way to use mods) is to create a new mod directory, or folder. And from here you run CoD.
So, create a new folder in the CoD directory (or folder). Call it something like 'mod'. This is now your fs_game directory. Place your skin mod in this folder.
Now, to run single player, edit the sp exe to include the switches:
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDSP.exe" +fs_game mod "
For mp, as I said you will need the mod on the server as well. so, you cant go join a server without the mod installed as well. Only thing left is to start your own server, and set up the mod to dl to any players that join your server.
Place a copy of the mod in the 'main' folder. To get the mod to download from there you will have to include cvars for either a server dl or a redirect to some web space where you can have a copy of the mod for download. |
