If you look where the link is you'll see the post is in the Call of Duty General Forum NOT United Offensive. Plus if you look when it was posted July 22nd, 2004 which is way before United Offensive was released, which means it WAS for CoD.

my question was not if colors worked, it was if ^8 and ^9 applied to CoD or if they were just added for UO. nowhere in the thread you linked to is that answered!
