I got banned from a server because I killed the admin and he got stroppy. Ever since then whenever I try and join a server, 50% of the time, It says you have been banned by the server! Did the stroppy admin pass my IP around or something? Can I change my IP or something? Im really pissed off with that immmature admin right now!
Its not you IP this idiot has banned but you GUID. If you dont know what this is, it's a unique identification number generated by you COD installation + your computers id (yes, you pc has one as well). It is used by PunkBuster to identify people.
Admin people with rcon control can ban you temporarily or permanently. Changing your IP will not over come the problem as it's this GUID thats been banned. The only way around it is to get another serial key (legal of course) for COD.
My advice is to find another server. Problem solved!!!!

yeah but you dont understand, I dont wanna go back on the server that I was banned on, I wanna go on servers that have also banned my GUID! never mind, im gettin UO fro xmas so that should work. Who cares about legal stuff anyway, half stuff on our computers is legal.
Tell them you've been the victim of a hack report, and they will investigate. Include your GUID for them to use in tracing the report.
You can find your own 32 digit GUID by dropping down console while in game and typing: \pb_myguid.
Then either dump the info to text doc by typing in console: \condump guid.txt. Search for 'guid.txt' to find it. Or simply write it down.
Universal bans only happen for good reason. The fact that pb is banning you, suggests to me that this guy, who you apparently simply killed, has noted you using a hack and taken a screenshot of you and passed it on to punkbuster, along with your GUID, and you have now been included in their Banned Player List.
So the question begs: Have you been hacking? If you have, then dont expect any help from us to help you lift this ban because I, for one, am an ardent support of anti-cheat measures like PunkBuster. So if you have been hacking, you can go stick yourself where the sun dont shine!

I would have to agree with tally all the way. Try what he said. You could try a re-install. Stranger things have happened and it should only take about 15 minutes of your time.
If you got cheating...Good for us.
