I clean up my hard drive often, did a defrag last week, just did a virus scan, got rid of all ad and spyware. I dont think thats the problem, cause all my other games run fine online. And when i play single play it runs flawlessly. And Reven my modem, Its a Terayon TJ715X it came with my comcast cable package.
Has the problem by any chance started since you upgrade to 1.4? If so then it it very plausible that it is connected to Punkbuster and/or Server punkbuster settings.

I only played after I got 1.4 and I have it fine.
You could try changing both values of the virtual memory to 500Mb, but if the minimum value is already recommended to be over that, then it probably isn't the problem. But still give it a go, you can change it back easily if it isn't the problem (make sure you do change it back - it can seriously arse up the loadup speed and stuff if it isn't enough for the game)
I asked for the modem because if it was a dial up it could be your ISP arsing about with your connection, but it is cable which is pretty much bombproof. As constant as electricity.
Now, connecting through gamespy...........
Have you tried using just the normal multiplayer mode to connect online? I use it and it is perfectly fine and I have never had problems with it. You could maybe try that.
But back to my original theory - does cable have any sort of method which filters out your connection from your cable line or iks it just a cable in socket thing? If there is some sort of way it splits the cable-line to your home, you could try having a look at it making sure it is working. Some people have had problems with all-in-one cable lines before where they get TV, Phone and Internet together. Do you have any sort of multipackage thing?
Whats your connection. It could be that if you have 56k. On my laptop it would freeze only when I used the mouse that I borrowed. Download the latest drivers. Or bring it into some place. They can probably fix it at a low cost.
I don't think he is running 56kbps.
It would not be worth networking a 56k modem. Anyway, Cable is high speed - thats the whole point. It wouldn't be practical having cable if you could get the same speed on the telephone line.
Has anything worked yet? Any improvements?
