cod errors during game play ( multiplayer)
 

ok, i was playing a game today, and i got an error that read " codmp.exe has an encountered an error and needs to close " so i clicked ok, it kicked me out of cod and back to my desk top. i restarted my comp just to be shure, and i joined another game, half hour into it, it did the same thing, except first it said that it had changed my graphics cards settings because it wasnt responding, and then i got the error. when the error comes up, the screen goes cloudy, and then when i got the changed graphics card settings message, my desk top was REALLY bright, and i restared my comp, and it was fine. ive got the latest drivers, 2.0 gig, asus mobo, 512 ddr mem, and such plz help :fistpunch: :fistpunch:

what kind of video card you have? Did you have anything running in the background, like another program?

post 2, ive got an ati radeon 9600xt whith the latest drivers, post 3, ya, it just happened outta the blue-ive played fine since ibought the game a weeka go

try typing this into your shortcut ==> properties ==> "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set cl_motd 0

your shortcut ===> properties ==> goal or something like that. ==>

"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set cl_motd 0

you have to wright it instead of the old one. I hope you understand now

Dude, right click and drag the CoD exe in your c:\program files\Call Of Duty folder about half an inch away, click create shortcut. Then,right click the shortcut, and click propertise. Where it says 'Target" copy/paste the shit he posted there, and you should be set.

just did exactly what u guys said -and still no dice- exact same error message. i uninstalled completely, and reinstalled, and the exact same thing still

no, you misunderstand, go to the 'run' box and type 'regedit'. You'll get a screen with many entries. Expand the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER and go to 'software'. Look for the key that corresponds with COD and delete it
