My Computer and FPS in CoD2

Hello.
First I want to sorry for my language but i don`t speak and write too good in Engilsh.
I got problem with this game. I have Athlon 64 3000+, 2x512 Kingstone RAM, GF 6800. And when i play on high detail (not extra) or even if I change detail to normal i have 12 - 20 FPS. For my it`s strange beacuse other games like demo NFS Most Wanted or HL2 or Quake 4 look very good and have more FPS.
Is anybody have the same problem??
Please help me
Thanks

Glad i`m not the only one then i have a Geforce 6600 256mb and i can get 90-120 fps but at certain times during a map and only on certain maps it goes from that to like 5 fps ,i have all settings on low or off or no 800x600 dx7 .strange but this game is up there with f.e.a.r when all settings on max even a 7800gt can only get bout 40-60 frames and unless you have a card like that or better you will have slight problems with dx9.
