I thought having tanks in UO was great..I rarely drove them but loved hunting them. My best was 15 on one of the maps. What I thought might make the tank fights better was if weapon damage was accurate i.e shouldnt be exactly the same amountof shots every time needed against a medium and heavy and if they needed more then one crew member. i.e driver, gunner etc

Totally agree with you but there are always stupid cry babies that complain about everything from weapons to the default menu design so itsno surprise that they'd be angry about vehicles which is why they probably took them out of the game

if they do add vehicles later on, i dooo hope they add a drivable sdkfz 250 halftrack and those amphibious carryers, so we could make mp maps where you must cross a river under enemy fire... oh yeah and mortars would be sweeet

they should also add a wider variety of armored vehicles, so there could be realistic armor-battles
noo jeeps!!, ther THE noob vehicle by exxelence and have no strategic use...exept for ctf mode

For those that don't like tanks I have a way to fix that. Turn them off. I mean seriously all you had to do were change a few numbers and your server had them turned off, then if you don't like the large maps without tanks you just rotate the smaller maps. They have no effect on the gameplay if they are turned off and everyone would have been happy that way.

forget the tanks, what about the panzerfausts in MP!? :( i miss the old times on CoD on S & D railyard, running into the building with the thin corridor and blasting a panzer into a group of 5 germans by the stairs.

But anyway, on topic now, If they made tanks easier to destroy like they were in the war (can you say sticky bombs?) then it'd be better. If every player had 1 sticky bomb they could disable tanks, or if a tank was stationary you could jump ontop of it, and press F by the hatch to automatically trigger opening the hatch and throwing a nade in or something like that.

They should also mix the levels, on UO all the levels (well 90%) are designed for tanks.. if they had some levels for tankers (not to be confused with wankers..) and some levels for the infantry lads, then it'd be all good i reckon. If they based the damage better on where the tank was hit too then it'd be better, a heavy tank (e.g. panzer) could probably take one shell in the front, a rear hit would destroy it, and a side hit would destroy one of its tracks.

aH yes u read my mind the panzerfaust it brings a tear to my eye when i think about it lol
i loved jumping iinto the trench in an mp level whos name i forgot and hiding there until a sherman came then id pop up with the panzerfaust and blast it and quickly throw a charge at it while it looked around for me in vain

Wow so many dissentors of tanks in the CoD series, I'm a bit shocked.

Go have a peek on the back of your CoD2 box. What does it say? "Battle using vehicles, including authentic WWII tanks" oh my.

To argue against tanks/vehicles saying we should go play BF42 is about as brilliant as us tank lovers arguing that infantry folk should go play MOH LMAO!! or CS or some other WWII modded game. It's silly. Besides, CoD blows BF42 out of the water and then some LMAO.

The most sensible post I read was the fella stating that alot of UO servers had the tanks turned off. That they did. Plenty of non-tank servers to choose from so to try and argue about some immature tank-spawn killer is mute. Overall tanks were easy to kill. Just had to know how to go about it. Didn't think you could just spit and blow it up did you?? LMAO!!!

Vehicles will be back. Whoever made CoD2 is not stupid. They know we'll pay for an expansion (yes, even you tank haters) with vehicles in it.

I personally wish they would have planes in it but I won't be disappointed if they don't.

/hugs to all my fellow CoD series fans (yes even you tank haters who don't want vehicles in CoD2 LMAO!!!
