Need help on call of duty 2

help I just set up a call of duty 2 server it plays ok on the first map when it goes to another and we try to join it puts us on spectator mode and it doesnt give us the side we want option also I need to know were do i go to get the camnds for the server I hope some1 can help its driving me nuts thanks
