I have an idea that might make Activision produce a Bridge Commander 2.
Steps
1. Someone get an email address to forward suggestions to activision
2. We all agree to send an email to that address individually on a set date
It would let them know there is an interest for a BC 2 and would also let them know its a bunch of people requesting the same thing not a single person whom they can block for causing their mail hub problems.
Suggestions of what should be in Bridge Commander 2
1. Shuttle Launching Framework Built-In
2. Single Player missions can be played with different ships
3. Saucer Seperation and MVAM (saucer sep you take command of Stardrive section)
4. You can create custom single player missions (this is built into the game)
5. You can choose what ship you want to command throughout the game. Note you will start with the same ship in the begining.
6. Different Bridges throughout game for individual ships (ie Defient, Intrepid, Galaxy, Sovereign, Nebula, Akira)
Can anyone think of anything else? If we do this right we'll get them to make a BC 2.
Note: I've posted this on dreamartspro, SGN, Hyperstream, and Bridge Commander Universe; if we all send individual emails requesting a BC 2 we might get our wish.

I know modders are in the process of developing a BC2 however there are limitations as to what they can do. Also a couple thousand e-mails will get Activision's attention. i.e. if a couple thousand individuals sent e-mails asking Activision to make a BC2 with the following features in addition to what is seen in BC. Then they have to take notice, if they don't then they are ignoring the customer which is bad marketing policy.

Possibly, but not necessarily and we're pushing the game engine to its breaking point. Whereas they are able to create a completely new game engine or modify the existing one.

Look at BCU, USS Appollo has his moving parts and ATP3 comming up, Nanobyte with his Warp FX and Atmosfere FX, Sneaker98 with his Saucer seperation, integration and MVAM.
And I with my uniform mutators and my own tech pack.

The chances of Activision and Totally Games making a sequel to this game is not going to happen. These PC Gaming companies go by the numbers when a game is first released. Bridge Commander did not meet up with thier expectations. Money wise, it wasn't flying off the store shelves as fast as they would have liked. So no sequel. This game had so many bugs during it's first few weeks, they made a patch for it. And we were lucky to get that much from Activision. BCfiles and File Freaks are one of the "Original" Bridge Commander forums. We even have some of the Original BC mod team regestured here.
Besides, The Mods made for this game are far superior than anything made by the original developers. Excellent mods made made by fans. If Activision and Totally Games can learn anything. They should pick up on that.
