Finally, we're back! almost died this week, i didn't check ff using my account for a year and a half, and when all collapsed didn't remember a thing, username, password, but just got a flash and i remembered,

all this days i wanted to post believing that ff was dead, but no more, no more, just a dream!

@mattym: i don't believe you can apply to be moderator, it would be like a wet dream for most people, not exactly super powers but a responsability that most people wouldn't know how to handdle...

on other matter, is there somewhere in the forums a spanish section or something like that?

I am so glad the site didn't go under. I am always coming here and finding more and more mods for my bridge commander game. It was bad timing for me lol I had just got a new computer and was wanting to test out some mods and couldn't download them! Well now I can actually test out some of these mods and see if this thing has the power that I hope it does. Welcome back FF.

:clap: Wow this is great. I was saddened by the news of the shut down and kept checking in to see if perhaps something may happen before the deadline. When I checked and saw the forums were gone I assumed all was lost. So April rolls around and after finally accepting it was gone I set out to find a new place to download my mods from. I goggle "bridge commander mods" and of course BCFiles is at the top. So as sort of an homage I click the link and, HOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, everything is back. Hahzaa! what a glorious day.

You know the old adage rings true; You don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Also :beer::bows::):):bows::beer:to the people who stepped up with the bucks to keep this thing going.

Exactly. :agreed Best way to become a Moderator is not to ask for it. Being active, nice, friendly and knowledgeable in your field of interest is a way to go.
It's not that hard. It's actually a boring job. Dammit, I need more work around here. *goes to Lord Wiener to ask for more work* =p
Nope. American forum = English/American language. People from all over the world come here and everyone uses English language. I'm not an American either. Hell, English is not my native language at all. I could probably count people from my country on the fingers of one hand.

i didn't knew about the english only rule. this is only an idea, of course, but i'm not talking about allowing posts in any language in any thread, only a special section that allows non-english threads... the new administration perhaps can review it. only an idea

but, in any language, this site is superb.... fantastic(o)

It's not really a rule. At least I'm not aware of such rule. I've seen threads where people posted in other languages, but those were exceptions. There is a thread in the Spam forum started by one of the Super Moderators. It's called Cool Dutch Club. People there post mostly in Dutch language. In my opinion, it's best to stick to English. That way you'll be sure everyone will understand you. ;)

It's really good to have the forums back, I was just becoming active here, after a couple years of semi-lurking. I was a mod over at one of the fileplanet forums for a couple/few years. You're right about the responsibility, tricorder. You have to not only watch your own conduct, but always keep in mind you and your actions represent the forums you're associated with. And there's always the worry that something nasty is going to happen on your watch, that you're going to be the weak link where all hell breaks loose. Lol, I wouldn't be a mod again if you paid me to do it. I left fileplanet because it's a hell of a lot of work with little or no benefits. That, and I didn't like how they re-did their forums, very ad-heavy. Took awhile for pages to load, even on DSL. Anyway, it's good to be back.

After fileplanet, I'm kinda liking being just another forum member. These look to be a good set of forums, good people, too.
