I have a 2.4 gigaHertz processor, 1 gig of ram, and an nVidia 4600ti with 128 megs. I have the latest directX and video card drivers. When I go to start a game (example: instant battle), it goes to the loading screen, but when the process shows that it is done loading, it will either hang there, or go to the game screen and hang there. Is this problem that anyone else has heard of? Any fixes? I've spent hours tonight looking on the net for fixes, but haven't found one. Thanks for your time.
p.s. C&C generals has also been 'stuttering' when I load it up, making it unplayable. I'm positive my problem is a software issue (drivers, directx, etc).

Sorry, this is Thok, had to re-register because it wasn't letting me back on as Thok, and it wouldn't send my pw to my email.
Anyway, I'm running XP, and the sound does not stop, it keeps playing whatever 70's song is supposed to play during the load screen (for example, for the first instant battle, it's "War, what is it good for."
I've checked out that page you posted and tried all of their suggestions. The main thing that concerns me is that as of a week or so ago, C&C stopped working also (unfortunately, about the same time I upgraded my videocard drivers, soundcard drivers, and directx9b) , so I think it must be some driver issue of a sort. I downloaded the latest ones, removed the old ones, and installed the new ones, but no luck.
I tried removing the video drivers in safe mode and then reinstalling them when in regular mode, but no luck? I'm still not able to get games to work...they start, and then freeze or stutter...any other tips?
