BFV sound problems I've been modding BFV for a little while now and i've run into a small problem. When I mess around the the ssc files for whatever reason and change them around i always have no reload sounds. For example, I turned on the loop feature for the m14 and realized that it didn't need to be on ( i didn't have any reload sounds at this point too) but when i turned loop back off i still didn't have the reload sounds. I'd like to know whats up and what i did wrong. |
Re: BFV sound problems Hmm. thats strange.. I have never heard of or encountered this one. I wonder why you are messing with those parts of code in the .ssc Most of the sound modification is usually done just to the .wav files. The .ssc files only define what .wav file is being called and the distance that sound will travel in the game. There are a few other things you can do in an ssc, but thats the majority of it. What are you trying to do with the sounds in the game? Are you trying to get them to loop? Or are you just trying to make the sounds different? I would not even mess around with the .ssc code unless you are trying to call a specific .wav file with a custom name. As far as making the reloading sounds disappear, well I would think that would be because a line is missing from the object.con for that weapon. its like this, con file calls an ssc file, ssc file calls a wav file. So the ssc is just a link file essentially. If no sound then the con is not calling the ssc when its supposed to (during reloading animation sequence), because the ssc was not defined in the con, or the ssc was deleted somehow from the object sound folder ( the latter will cause a CTD) So before you do another edit, look for the ssc that calls the reloading sound wav. Look for where the ssc link is described in the con files. It should be in the section that defines the reloading animation or whatever. |
