How to mod?

I've looked at some places to try and find out how to mod TLOTRTBFME2EPTROTWK *breathes*. My goal is to make the Balrog a buildable hero for the evil factions. I have FinalBig.exe and can get into the ROTWK folder but get lost amongst the many numbers and letters on how to change a unit's stats, furthermore, I can't seem to find the Balrog's stats anywhere in the folder!

If anyone can give my some help on finding an editor that is easy to understand, or help me with how to do my current goal, I'd be very appreciative.

Start>Computer>C>Programfiles>ElectronicArts>TLOTR THBFME2EPTROTWK (Opened with .big)> looked around all the evil faction units and couldn't find the Balrog's file.

Can anyone help me find the vaules to change to make the Balrog a buildable hero for all evil faction, a few mods have it so i know it can be done; where can I find the Balrog's file?
