FileFront Forums - Error On Start up

Hey guys,

I have been googleing this problem forever. I have been having game.dat errors ever since I reinstalled to vista. Sometimes the game reports back that it was game.dat error and sometimes it just says it errored out then closes. I haven't gotten the game to boot yet it just does the splash screen then closes. I have googled it and found what worked for other people but that still didn't work. I then clicked the Tech Support button on the AutoRun.exe and it reported back that said my operating system is unkown. I have ran dxdiag and everything is up to date. Here is my system.

OS: Vista Business SP1
RAM: 2gigs
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT x2 with SLI
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz

Anyone have a fix for this or know how I can make BFME2 recognize my OS. I have tried to run it in compatibility mode and that just gives me a insert cd into cd-rom error. Any help would be awesome. I will be checking back to give you feedback on what your advise did for me. Thanks.

Edit: Just wanted ot mention that I am patched up to 1.06 and the autorun.exe says that there are no more updates for me to get at this time.
