please help battlefield 2 dramas

i puchased battlefield 2 complete collection and i istalled it. after restarting my computer i clicked on the desktop icon to play it, i came up a box with battlefield 2, the box went and displayed the desktop then a blank black screen came up for 2 seconds then went back to desktop. the only game requirement i failed on was that you need windows xp and i have vista. any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated
