Default Cant Play BF2

Alright heres the story last time we played BF2 and was fine was we had a 128mb 6600gt nvidia and 1gb ram, everything else was stock as i will show you except for the video and Ram.

a couple weeks ago my bro bought a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 512MB DDR2
and we upgraded to get a 1.5G Ram and we can install the game fine but as for getting up to the menu or changing settings shortly after itll freeze automatically or so slow it takes like 10 minutes just to open the task manager. now the game isnt causing any CPU usage or anything its running fine, but the game is slow like almost feezes. and somewhere down the road were lucky enough to just jump into a single player (no internet) and walk 5 steps and freeze, we have to shut the computer off and restart it. whats happening?

just curious whats up ive talked to the BFG guys and he has no clue. ive downloaded the latest drivers and ive turned off my firewalls ive manually and automatically uninstalled the game and reinstalled, nothing is working.

my bro thinks it might be the game messed up or the patch (1.41) (latest)

heres the specs:

Processor - Intel Pentium 4 2.53 Ghz / 533
Chipset - 845G
Memory - 1,500 DDR |
Hard Drive - 120G
CD-Rom Drive - 48x
DVD+RW/+R drive
- CD - 32x/12x/10x
- DVD - 8x/24x/24x
Diskette Drive - 1.44MB (3.5")
Fax and Data Modem - Cheetah 2 Modem
PCI I/O Card - Audigy With 1394
Video Graphics - GeForce 7300 GT 512MB DDR2
Sound/Audio - AC97 Audio
Network Interface - 10/100BT Integrated on Motherboard
USB Specifications - USB 2.0

Please Help ive got nothing left. i put in 1942 and works great and added on the DC mod lol but that works fine. just BF2????

BF2 is an absolutely different game from 1942. So you can't compare the two of them.

This can be caused by hardware enabling for the sound card.
Check that ...
You said you have the newest Vid drivers ? 94.24 right ?

Please don't start a new thread without finishing the last one, you need to check for hardware sound settings in your configuration files if you can't get to the sound menu ingame, as I last posted in that thread and Merrick has posted here. You need to do what we suggest rather than skipping possible problems otherwise we can't help you.

Big Problem

=C:\documents and setting\user name\my documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\

Check in the audio.con files, there may be several, and make sure this line;

AudioSettings.setProvider "software"

Says software not hardware.

Seriously, does the entire computer freeze? Or did you just restart it because you couldn't get BF2 to respond? Did you try alt/tab or ctrl/alt/del or alt/F4 to shut down the game?

Also suggest looking at the memory, you have made 2 changes either one of which could be the issue. Do you still have your old 6600, if you do plug that back in and see what it does with that.

try adding another 1 gb mem, ditch the 512 mb, or do you have all 512 sticks? in that case add another 512, and MAKE sure that you check your BIOS and it is set to 256 mb seeing that you was using a 128 mb card, some manufactures set it to 128mb,
