yes.... and the 1994 fiero's had a tendency to blow up when hit from behind. Not the 1995, nor the 93. People think because they have a better or worse card because of the number.

EXAMPLE:
I had a radeon 9500 pro 128 meg card years ago. I didn't get the 9700 because it was brand new and supposedly better. I waited. Come to find out, the 9500 could be modded with a pencil, one line of lead gave me a 9700 pro.
get it ?
the difference in some cards also, is the cooling they used for it. Kinetic or passive can make a HUGE difference.

The other point i am trying to make here is, you could get a 1950 on pci and i will tell you the card is crap. Why ? Anyone ? Beuler ? Beuler ?

well it's not over heating, you might have to break your heart and wallet and get a better vidoe card, try an ATI x800xl 256 mb, cost about $150.00 or cheaper or nvidia 7800

Yes but if he is buying PCI graphics cards then he doesn't have AGP or PCE-E slots, so anything he gets is not going to work very well at all.

To the OP then, why a PCI vid card? Don't you have an AGP slot? Was the FX5700 PCI also?

Since the only thing you have changed is the vid card then odds on it is a vid card issue, the PCI slot is way slower than the AGP slot for vid cards, even a top performing vid card chipset is going to be crippled in a PCI slot.

If you FX5700 worked fine in the PCI clot then it could be an issue with the vid card itself, if you still have the FX5700 put it back in and see what it does. If it works fine then your 6200 is screwed, if not then it is some other issue.

I was assuming he needed an AGP card, and probably would be better off if he got a good AGP card and not try the PCI seeing that he is having performance issues
