Trouble with patches

Im having a problem patching BF2, i can download the patches, but then when i go to try to patch it, everything freezes around the middle of the patch, any help/assist/tutorial will be greatly appreciated on how to fix the problem, tyvm

Yoour specs would help ALOT at this point. Trying to narrow down this issue is slightly difficult without them.

only download the 1.41 patch, its the only patch you need,it covers all previous patches
