1.2 Patch Failed! WTF?

What the hell? I re-installed my game because i kept having problems, now it wont let me patch. any help?

Hmm, try un-installing again, make sure to delete the left over folders and the folder in "My Documents" and make sure there are no stray references left inthe registry. I suspect it's a leftover from the previous install that's giving you trouble.

Thanks Soldier, I will try the registry removals as well that you outlined (very concise and clear by the way). Did you happen to see my other thread:
Can't play online after applying the 1.02 patch

I'm not sure if a registry clean will help there, but I will try. Any other ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I looked at your other thread after I replied to you here. Right now I'm hoping that a complete uninstall and wiping all registry files, then reinstalling, will allow you to patch normally, because right now I don't have any other ideas for you, other than maybe...

1) After you install fresh again take a look at the registry entries and make sure they list the correct location of your BF2 installation.

2) Delete the patch file you have right now, clear your Temporary Internet Files(cache) and download the patch fresh. Perhaps something was/went wrong with the one you download before? You're not the first to have that problem and then manually manipulate the files to get it to install though.
