voice sounds are gay when in the audio options there is the software and the hardware option, when i select Hardware (highest to lowest) and go into a game the radio voices are choppy as hell but the rest of the sounds are perfect and it makes no lag. WHY?! But if its on Highest for software the voices are fine. i have a soundblaster 5.1 live with EAX ,er somthing like that, and i dont know if that is a bad soundcard or what. and whats the difference between the software and the hardware. it really pisses me off and i dont know why. but it only makes the radio commands sound choppy, and its not like some of the words are skiped it just makes it sound like he is sounding the word out...example... when on software "roger" would sound normal and smooth but on hardware it would be like "rrrrr o o o og er er er" but gun sounds and jets and wind and explosions are smooth. and it doesnt make the game any laggier...it just makes no sence and it angers me. |
Re: voice sounds are gay Sigh, why are you getting angry? if you had bothered to read the documentaion that came with the game you would have seen this! Quote:

Re: voice sounds are gay but if it didnt support them they just wouldnt work, mine works just 1 thing sounds wierd and the rest is fine. what is the difference between hardware and software options anyway? |
Re: voice sounds are gay ya... hardware is the sound card software is a program im sure , right AK? |
Re: voice sounds are gay The Software option means something like this... There is some software code that handles the proccesing of sound, and your CPU caters to processing the instructions in this software 'sound' code. So CPU cylces are used to process the sound. Hardware means that you have a supported piece of sound hardware, such as an Audigy 2 sound card, that can process the sound instead of having the CPU do it. So, some load(cpu cycles) is taken off the CPU since it is now being handled by the dedicated peice of sound hardware. I believe the hardware sound option can give you a little bit better sound too, as the dedicated peice of hardware does more processing of the sound than the software/cpu option does. SneakAttack, well, if your sound card was listed as supported and you were having a complaint about it not working properly then I could see how you'd have a problem. But, that fact that you wrote about it not working properly shows that, well, it isn't working. If it's only working half-assed then that really isn't what I'd call working. Again, if your card was listed as supported but it was only working half-assed, then I could see how you'd have a problem. Tell your folks that you would like an Audigy 2 ZS for Christmas. ;) Or if you really want to go all out then ask for a Creative X-Fi sound card. http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer...818/index.html Regards, OneTinSoldier |
