Go to your "C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles", you will see a number of sub folders, in each sub-folder is a file called video.con, open then with notepad.
You will see a line something like this in each file, the numbers may be different;
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024X768@85Hz
Change it to this in each file;
VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@60Hz
Save and and test BF2 once they have all been altered.
