Black screen still

i downloaded the demo installed it and once i click on icon to start, i get black screen then a flash then back to my desktop. I've been through all the similar posts and it all says update drivers, which i did, still same problem. everything ive tried doesnt work. im running p4 2.8ghz 1gig ram with a radeon 9700

What display device are you using. If it's an LCD it may be the game detecting the refresh rate as being out of range and exiting.

Go to your "C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles", you will see a number of sub folders, in each sub-folder is a file called video.con, open then with notepad.

You will see a line something like this in each file, the numbers may be different;

VideoSettings.setResolution 1024X768@85Hz

Change it to this in each file;

VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@60Hz

Save and and test BF2 once they have all been altered.
