- Patching Failed - problem solution for patch 1.02

One of these should help you.

1. Make sure you have atleast 800MB free memory before installing BF2 1.02 patch.

2. Re-install BF2, re-download patch to make sure its not defect.

3. I dont really know why, but for some reason - this works...

Extract these files to your folder - C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/
Use Your "Command Prompt" (MsDOS... as found in START - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt) to enter the Battlefield 2 folder where you extracted the files, and run the file - "Patch.exe"

This worked on my friends computer - he has 3GHZ P4, 512MB RAM, 200GB HD with 20GB free space, and he got the "Patching Failed" message everytime he tried to install the "Normal" BF2 patch1.02 from EA or whatever, even though he tried re-installing and downloading patch several times... This last solution worked for him.

I personally will not download a zip file from someone who has only posted here once and then extract it and run and EXE. file....

sorry but this kind of post screams virus or key logger.........

I dont think its a key logger...that doesnt seem very smart. It might be cool...and hack...but whats he going to do with it. I heard EA is releasing a patch..somewhat like steam and hl2 that records ur key and if ur the 1st 1 to record it..then thats ur key..no1 else can have it/ it cant be used no matter what.

It's called stealing your CD key and it has been done before.
as for what you mentioned about steam and HL2 while that is true all I have to do is install a keylogger on our PC and I will get all your account information, user name and password and it's then very easy to steal your account.
and again that has been done. (not by me but it has been done)

and considering the success they have been having with their last two patches I would not count on that feature anytime soon.

Dude, I'm not a hacker. I've been busting my brains out over this " Patching Failed " problem, and I finally found a solution... this one... (3) and it worked, so I thought I'd share it with U guys..

It is basically the same as "Standows" tells U to do here : Problem installing 1.02 patch

See.. Only that on the site I linked you can download them files... I've tries Standows way to, and that worked - you just have to run the patch program far enough to get the folder with the Patch files into the temp dir...

And dont get me wrong, I didnt come up with this solution myself... I just found it elsewhere it here... And it worked.... just so you know.. Im not going for any creds or nothing..

By the way I recommend doing this instead -
Problem installing 1.02 patch if you dont trust the files I linked to...
