Mod Ideas - Changing Artillery

I was playing Strike at Karkand and i kept getting wiped out when i was in a vehicle. I was wondering how would it be, if the artillery didnt have explosive rounds. Yet it fired either Mines or C4?

I would have to change the Mine "Deployment" to be in a vast area and be a few more clips than the current artillery.

If it was the C4, Im not sure how i would go at detonating the C4 once it landed. Might have to have it rigged like the mines to work on the enemy being close.

Anyone have any suggestions as how to work the C4?
As im confident with the mines.

well, I think you should go with claymores if you don't want it to damage vehicles, AT mines would also work. As to detonating then C4, you could put it on a time delay, make the c4 only live for 20 second, then when it dies, it explodes. That might work.

I might be dead wrong on this...
But I thought that the artillery doesn't actually "shoot" anything, just scripted expolosions and artillery animations.

That is probably what it does ingame. Actual arty of course shoots real rounds, they also have a MUCH larger danger close zone, equivilant would be a whole map distance from where friendlies need to be and where impact is. Doesnt the guns in this game always look like they shoot straight up? Yet somehow they always have a curvilinar trajectory...

No if you fly a helicopter directly above arty while it fires, you will get slaughtered.

well the thing is. with the artillery it seems as if it may be scripted, but if you have your detail up high you can see the "smoke trails". Yet when i changed the projectile to the at_mines they didnt go where i expected them to. Just went up, and came straight back down on the artillery. So im trying to figure out how to deploy them across the terrain in relation to the "artillery target".
