How to unlock weapons and time limit (server/SP)

Want to try out the extra kits offline? How about no time limit while doing so? I wanted to. Here's what I did:

Download the mod to unlock all weapons & no time limit here.

Server admins just need to install this mod. (make sure you correct the path to your server install location)

This file is setup to install for servers, but until an SP/client version is released, you can make it work in SP by doing this:

Install the files right to the desktop (or somewhere you can find them easily).

Then place the files here:
"gpm_cq.py" into the "Battlefield 2 Demo\mods\bf2\python\game\gamemodes" directory

"unlocks.py" into the "Battlefield 2 Demo\python\bf2\stats" directory

As always, when replacing files, I would backup the originals first just in case.

This won't affect your online gaming (meaning , no you won't get the weapons online) unless the server is running with the mod. Punkbuster doesn't seem to mind this file change either (I tested it on same vanilla servers last night). If for some reason it gives you trouble online, just replace the files with the ones you backed up. (You did back them up, right?)

So they are banning servers that run this mod? How strange.

Do they think if there's no time limit on the demo that people won't buy the game? They'll like the demo so much that they won't want the rest of the game, huh? Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

You'd think they'd be excited that people want the game so much that even the demo is getting tweaked. But then again, this is EA we're talking about...

i wait thats the one i downloaded and it didnt work =/ when i went to instal it wanted to create a new dirctory and it wouldnt so i just stuck it ont desktop and then went through and stuck it in the right places for some reason it asked me to stick em in bf2 stand alone server eny way i stuck em in the right place and when i loaded the map it crashed =/ so......


p.s just wondering but is it possible to make the large 32 player map for single player with bots? coss that crappy tiny map u get is too small

Sorry that guide (top post) didn't work, It worked for myself and others. (Try again?)

You could try it this way:
1. Open the file "Battlefield 2 Demo\python\bf2\stats\unlock.py" (with Notepad)
2. Go to line 44 and find this coding: defaultUnlocks = [0,0,0,0,0,0,0]
3. Change all the zeros in that peice of code above to ones and save.

p.s just wondering but is it possible to make the large 32 player map for single player with bots? coss that crappy tiny map u get is too small

There doesn't seem to be a way to run the large map in SP mode in the demo. There better be options to do so in the retail though!
