Nvidia drivers test.

Just got done testing some drivers. I started about 4 this morning.


Here are the results after a looong day.. was fun tho! .. i tested them only in 3dmark2001 and Quake3 demo001 fps test... Computer 2 is the same as Computer 1 (look to the right side).... but with a Geforce 4 Ti4600....

conclusion: the story behind why the f*** i benched the drivers is that i first had 44.03 then by curiousity i tested older drivers and noticed that the further down i went with older drivers... the more Game Performance i got... wicked? BTW... Old drivers win.. and im keeping the 29.42... i think you should test the older drivers as well to see which one fits best to your Computer... because drivers are really weird

Ive been preaching this like forever man. The best performance I get is by using pre-Catalyst drivers, or the earlier versions of the Cats for my ati card. This is the reason that I so despise benchmarking utilities, because ati and nvidia both aim for high benches and forget all about actual performance of apps and games. :bitter:

I really dont care for benchmarks because if i wanted to test my hardware and my fps ill do it online not in some program like 3dmark 2001 and 3.

i may give that a try.. i was about to make a new thread asking for a bit of help.. but maybe ill try some old drivers instead..

Heres my prob that they MAY fix..

yesterday i bought a geforcefx 5600 ultra and naturally was eager to slap bf on and see how it fared..
well it was nothing but gorgeous.. AA x 4 and Anistopic quincux
100fps solid to start.. then i jumped in a jeep and soon as i pulled away & the dust sprayed from wheels my fps was all over show and driving was laggy.. when stopping was normal again, then when a tank fired apon me and hit the ground nearby the cloud of smoke caused fps to drop to 10 and under

i assumed it was the aa etc but even at default the very same happens..
and its the same on ALL games to
GTA vice city runs sweet until i sit on spot and do a burnout..
the smoke generayed from wheels causes an evil fps drop
so its smoke/dust related, im hoping this is NOT my card.

now u mentioned old drivers u given me new hope..

Actually i was testing older drivers on my GF4. Older drivers wont work on a the gf fx series.

only other idea i had was maybe its the x8 agp thing?
i went into bios but there is no option saying what its set at
(i have x8 agp board)
does anyone know how i can set my fx to x4 to see if that is the prob?
is bios only way of doing it?
(using award bios v6.00)

first thing i thought was soundcard!
i had a 5.1 (yes HAD) i went and bought a augidy 2 today thinking it WILL sort it.. but oh no.. its still being a biatch
